David García Núñez re-elected as president of the Spanish Club of Directors of Institutional Relations and Communication until 2029

David García Núñez has been re-elected president of the Spanish Club of Directors of Institutional Relations and Communication, extending his term at the helm of the organisation until 2029 following unanimous support from the organisation’s board of directors.

This re-election consolidates the organisation’s track record and its mission to promote professionalisation, ethical standards and strategic visibility in the fields of institutional relations, public affairs and corporate communications within the Spanish business and institutional ecosystem.

Strategic priorities for the new term (2025–2029)

Under the new mandate running until 2029, the board of directors will drive an agenda focused on responding to changes in the economic, social and regulatory environment:

  1. Recognition in corporate governance: To consolidate the role of directors of institutional relations and communication within management committees and in the strategic planning of organisations.
  2. Technological transformation and Artificial Intelligence: To develop best-practice guidelines and ethical frameworks for the integration of AI tools into reputation management, corporate diplomacy and regulatory analysis.
  3. Transparency and regulation of public affairs: To continue actively collaborating in the development and consolidation of regulatory frameworks on transparency for stakeholders and institutional relations in Spain and the European Union.
  4. Sectoral partnerships and talent recruitment: Strengthen collaborative links with the public administration, employers’ organisations, the academic community and counterpart organisations at an international level, with a particular focus on the Ibero-American region.

Following his re-election, David García Núñez stated:

“I accept this re-election with immense gratitude towards all the organisation’s members and with a firm sense of responsibility. The field of institutional relations and communication is at a crucial juncture: in a global context characterised by high geopolitical volatility, information overload and demands for transparency, our role is decisive in building trust, fostering constructive dialogue with regulators and safeguarding the reputation of the institutions and companies we represent. Until 2029, we will continue to work to position our discipline at the highest level of engagement and positive influence in society”.

With this appointment, the organisation begins a new era of governance with a management team that will continue to deliver value to its members through discussion forums, highly specialised training programmes and sector reports.
